In the distant future, a community living in a desert universe wistfully remembers the time when there were still trees, insects, and birds. When sadness takes over, it is enough to create a short circuit that sets in motion an unexpected transformation. Nothing is lost.
The Sky above the City draws on a multitude of animation techniques and tools, opening up a teeming hybrid universe to imagine the impossible: a glimpse from the future that can make us reflect on the present.
Rosalie Loncin is a filmmaker, animator and graphic designer, a graduate of EnsAD in Paris.
She creates animated music videos (Silent and Sweet for Stuck in the Sound, Lao Tseu for Jouvence...) and collaborates with many directors (Marie Larrivé and Lucas Malbrun, Virgin Keaton, Jonas Schloesing...) while working on her own films, including La Vraie Vie (Real Life) (Sacrebleu Productions and Gao Shan Pictures) and Le ciel au-dessus de la ville (The Sky Above the City).
She is currently involved in the development and production of several projects, such as the series Once there was a... (co-directed with Vincent Delbos-Klein and produced by Bagan Films) and the documentary Netflim Génération (co-directed with Danny Gopnik).
