From the special mention of the Asolo Film Festival: “For expertly and poetically telling a micro-story of loneliness and strenuous survival with the fine stylistic ease typical of Iranian cinema, in a context interpreted by beautiful cinematography. The silence in which the protagonist is immersed becomes more and more deafening, until she slips, step by step, into a surreal relationship with a scarecrow, with whom she finally empathizes. In this epilogue the silence disappears and gives way to the marvelous sound of a trumpet.” Seemingly cryptic film that opens the door to a deeper level of understanding of loneliness and, why not, of life itself.
Mohammad K Alavi, producer, actor and director has many cultural documentaries and short films for television to his credit.
