by Leonardo Barreto, Brazil, 2023, 14' - out of competition
The story of the collaboration between artist Christina Oiticica and Txatxu Pataxó, an indigenous artist from the Pataxó ethnic group, in the production of canvases painted by both of them and buried in the Aldeia Porto do Boi, in the far south of Bahia, Brazil. A fusion of contemporary art and indigenous tradition, creating a deep dialogue with the land and local culture, turning art into an act of spiritual connection and respect for nature.
Leonardo Barreto is a self-taught photographer who has covered cultural festivals in Caraíva/BA, the Porto Seguro Arts Fair and the Casa das Artes em Foco project in Santa Cruz do Sul/RS.
He has worked as cameraman in four projects: Memories Project for the Caraíva Community Library, São João Virtual, Tazinho, o homem e o mar, and the Caju de Leitores Festival.
