A philosophical-aesthetic documentary that focuses on an inert but powerful material like coal. The fascination of an element that has existed for hundreds of millions of years clashes with its environmentally harmful use for industrial purposes.
The intertwined and overlapping reflections of young activists, steelworkers and a geologist meet in a space-time filled with meditations, nightmares, resolutions and aspirations, each with their own vantage point.
The plurality of voices that emerges highlights the possibility of a shared vision.
